THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, October 18, 1998, page 6A: 'HONEY GROVE - Glen Bearden, 78, of Honey Grove died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, In McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris. He was born July 23, 1920, in, Waxahachie, a son of George Asbury Bearden and Amy Celia Hullett. He married Carlene Green June 28, 1940, in Lamesa. He was a retired aircraft mechanic and was active in ranching. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Honey Grove. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, in Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Howell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Russ Noland. Burial will be in Allens Point Cemetery in Allens Point community. The family will have visitation from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Before his retirement, Mr. Bearden was employed by Convoy Aircraft, now known as Lockheed Fort Worth and Chance Vought in Grand Prairie. He was a World War II Navy veteran in the South Pacific Theater of operations. The family has requested memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Honey Grove. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Glynda Winters of Arlington and Sandy Stuart of Honey Grove; a son, Dale Bearden of Arlington; two brothers, L. O. Bearden of Blooming Grove and the Rev. George Bearden of Mineral Wells; five grandchildren, Lofi Haxel, Jason Bearden, Andra Bearden, Scott Stuart, Keith Stuart; and two great-grandsons, Haston and Baylen Haxel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Bearden, and sister, Ruth Shockey.'
