THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Feb. 16, 1997, p.6A: 'Chester F. Upchurch, 76, of 1975 Bela Vista, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at St Joseph's Hospital and Health Center. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. l7, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home, with Dr. Sidney Young officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Upchurch was born Sep. 23, 1920, in English, Texas, a son of Leonard and Lena Hogan Upchurch. He married Dorothy Stockton March 7, 1940, in Paris. He retired from Texas Power & Light Co. after 36 years of service. While with TP&L, he was an accountant and auditor. After his retirement in 1982, he went to work for Bright-Holland Funeral Home, and worked until shortly before his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the Harry Woolston Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He served in the Army during World War 11 and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Freeman Upchurch of Rowlett and Tim Upchurch and his wife, Debbie, of Paris; a daughter, Judy and her husband Joe Boyd Jones of Paris; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Upchurch; and a sister, Mrs. Billy McCool of Duncanville.'
