THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 1 Oct 1987: "Santee Turner, 1015-19th SW, died Monday, 28 Sep 1987, at his residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, 30 Sep, at the Bright-Holland Funeral Home. The Rev. James Barnes officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Turner was born 6 Oct 1912, in Louisiana, the son of Sam Turner and Brittie Nelson Turner. He married Bertha Mae Trim on 8 Apr 1978, in Paris. He was a member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Turner of the home; one son, Richard Turner, Mission; one daughter, Faye Harper, Slayton; four step-children, Larry Moree, Robert Moree, and Barbara Kenney, all of Paris, and Bobby Moree of Ashdown, Ark.; four sisters, Scotty Wall of Dallas, Viola Long of Paris, Ruby Jones of Winfield, La., and Jewel Buetner of Missoula, Mont.; six brothers, Ray Jones, Aubrey Jones, Dean Jones and Gary Jones, all of Paris, Ralph Jones of Arco, Idaho, and Cannon Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren."
Information from Mildred Fay Turner Harper Cooper, Reno, Texas, faycooper@suddenlink.net, 12/01/2015: This is my father Santee Turner. At his death he only had 4 grandchildren. Someone added too many grandkids.
