LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Jan. 7, 1988. 'Raymond T. Trier, 970-36th SE, died at Medical City Hospital Dallas, Thursday, Dec. 31. Services were held Monday, Jan. 4, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Burial in Evergreen. Mr. Trier was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., March 20, 1911, a son of Theodore C. and Matilda L. Sadle Meyer Trier. He attended Southside High School in Ft. Wayne and Indiana Technical Institute where he received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Zenith Radio Corp. in Chicago and later worked for the Hoover Co., in North Canton, Ohio. He was associated with Union Metal in Canton and was president of the Superior Switchboard Division. He built the Superior Switchboard plant here in 1962 and moved here as manager of the plant, retaining his presidency of Superior Switchboard. He retired in 1973. He later owned City Electric and operated it until 1982. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and its Friendship Class, and was a member of the Paris Lions Club. About a year and a half ago he started the GED equivalency test at the Lamar County Jail through Paris Junior College. He also taught a Bible class at the jail. In Canton, he served as director of Family Services and organized a free dental clinic for needy children there. He married Elizabeth Strayer on March 29, 1940. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Garith (Sally) Grant of Sydney, Australia; a son Stanley T. Trier of Hudson, Ohio; eight grandsons Steven Derek and Nathan Trier of Hudson, and David, Joel Peter, Michael Lael, and Jeremy Grant, all of Sydney, and one brother, Lester Trier of Venice, FL.'
