Notes

In the burial records of J.W. Milligan, Pastor of Chicota Baptist Church, as buried in 'Sumner' graveyard.

Information submitted July 21, 1995, from Lynda K. Smith, 1213 W. Gladys Way, Mustang, OK, 73064. 'I am researching the Timberlake and McMackins line of my family.
I was born in Ponca City, OK on August 12, 1945 to Willy F. and Luella B. (Duroy) Timberlake. I attended schools in Ponca City and graduated from high school there. I married James Kaiser in 1964 and we had a daughter, Kimberly Dawn, on January 21, 1968. We were divorced in 1969. In 1970, I married Robert Conrad and we lived in Oregon for 12 years. We had a daughter, Candy Wynne, born on October 24, 1972. We were divorced in 1987 and I have spent my time from then on back in Oklahoma. In 1990, I married Joe T. Smith. We have resided in Oklahoma since.
My father, Willy F. Timberlake, was born on June 6, 1916, in Davidson, Oklahoma, to Dalton L. and Lyda Florence (McMackins) Timberlake. His parents were cotton farmers and moved around a lot. He had two brothers, Bloyce Edward, born May 22, 1903 in Paris, Texas, died in Ponca City, OK June 16, 1978, and Arnem Nelson, born May 15, 1907, place unknown, and lives in California. He also had one sister, Eula Mae, born October 16, 1905 in Paris, Texas and died November, 1982 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. My parents presently live in Chickasha, Oklahoma and are both in their 80's and in good health.
My mother, Luella B, (Duroy), was born in November 23, 1911 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Ervin A. and Ida M, (Garrett) Duroy. My grandparents were dairy farmers in the area. My mother had three brothers, and two sisters and I won't go into that information.
My grandparents, Dalton L. and Lyda Florence were married in Lamar County, Texas on December 26, 1900. I don't know any information as to what profession they were in except I assume they were farmers. Dalton L. was one of ten children. He had four brothers and five sisters. Dalton L. was born in Paris, Texas on September 21, 1879. He died in Ponca City, OK on March 16 1943 and is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery southwest of Ponca City.
Lyda Florence (McMackins) was born in Buena Vista, Tennessee on June 22, 1881 to Frank and Martha (Eldner?) McMackins. She had two sisters, Jettie (McMackins) Butler and Camele (McMackins) Roberts. Since she was 19 years of age when she married, I do not know when the McMackins moved to Paris, Texas. Lyda was 1/2 blooded Indian and I do not know what tribe. She died in Ponca City, OK on April 14, 1947 is buried beside her husband in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
My great-grandparents, Richard (Dick) and Martha McAlester (Brown) Timberlake were married in Paris, Texas on July 4, 1871. Dick was born in Lawrence County Mt. Vernon, Mo on July 17, 1853 and I feel that his father was Benjamin Timberlake on the Missouri Census for that county, Martha was in Paris, Texas on November 11, 1848. They are both buried in the Sumner Cemetery. Dick has an unmarked grave and died on July 19, 1932, Martha died on November 16, 1911.
Children of Dick and Martha were 1. Emmette Hume (27 Jul 1872- 26 Dec 1943), married Fanney Maysey in 1915, 2. Jane Ann born 7 Oct 1873, 3. Emily Seloma, born 27 Mar 1875, 4. Thomas Benjamin, born 5 Jul 1877, 5. Dalton L., 6. Sarah Eliza, born 28 Jan 1883, 7. Adna Savila, 8. Willie Maybelle, born 3 Jan 1885, 9. Charles Edgar, born 31 Jul 1889, 10. Jessie Loyd, born 2 Mar 1894.
