Gooch; cause of death senility, nephritis; date of death 25 Feb 1922 at 3 pm; widowed; aged 83 years; body shipped to Shelbina, MO. 1159 am T&P 2/26; casket size 5/9; manufactured by Texarkana; coffin price $85.00; embalming $25.00; hearse $5.00; Lamar Co. $8.50; total $123.50.

THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Thursday, March 2, 1922: “Mrs. Sarah J. Threlkeld, who was eighty-four years old, died last Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Ligon, with whom she was living at 128 West Kaufman Street. The remains were shipped to Shelbina, Mo., her old home for burial.”

JOPLIN GLOBE, (Joplin, Missouri), Sunday, February 26, 1922: “MRS. SARAH J. THRELKELD, JOPLIN PIONEER, IS DEAD. Mrs. Sarah J. Threlkeld, 81 years old. a resident of Joplin for thirty years, died at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Visie Ligon in Paris, Tex. Mrs. Threlkeld had been with her daughter since last Christmas. Her residence here was at No. 609 Byers Avenue. Mrs. Threlkeld was a member of the Central Christian church. She was the widow of John T. Threlkeld, who died several years ago. Surviving besides the daughter are three sons, J. E. and C. W. Threlkeld of Joplin and S. C. Threlkeld of Springfield. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Frank, Byron and Margaret Threlkeld of Joplin, and four great grandchildren. The body will be sent to Shelbina, Mo., for burial. The funeral services will be held there at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon."
