THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, (Date of obituary not available.) 'Mrs. Clayton H. Thompson, 84, of 1400 W. Austin, and Pleasant Grove Nursing Home, died Tuesday, 12 Feb 1974, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, 14 Feb, in Fry and Gibbs Chapel, with the Rev. Ira Thompson officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery. Nellie Beville Thompson was born 1 Apr 1889, near Jackson, Tennessee, daughter of Derome Beville and Margaret Rebecca Leslie Beville. She moved to Texas as a child, settling with her family in the Petty community. She and Mr. Thompson were married on 22 Feb 1917, his death occurring 12 May 1942. They made their home in Brookston, and Mrs. Thompson moved to Paris in 1943 where she operated a tailor shop from 1947 to 1968. She was a member of the Oak Park United Methodist Church, its women's guild, and the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include two sons; Dr. Crayton B. Thompson, Rochester, New York, and Carl R. Thompson, Denton; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Miss Bertie D. Beville, Paris, and several nieces and nephews.'
