THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, May 19, 1911: 'Dr. Jesse Thompson, an old resident of Blossom, who was about eighty years of age, died at his home Wednesday evening. He is survived by a son, Jesse Thompson, Jr., who resides at Blossom and two daughters, both of whom reside in Oklahoma. One of them is the wife of E. C. Armstrong, Esq., who taught school in Lamar county several years ago, but is now practicing law at Idabel. The other daughter is the wife of Joe Lenoir of Hugo. Dr. B. C. Thompson, a brother of the deceased who lived at Blossom twenty years ago, and who is now living in St. Louis, was present with him when he died. The funeral service was held at 11 o'clock yesterday morning and was conducted by Rev. W. C. Howell. The Masonic lodge at Blossom, of which he was a member took charge of the remains, after the service at the house and officiated at the grave.'

D. J. Thompson received a pension #06417 from the State of Texas for his service in the Confederate Army.
