THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, May 23, 1916, p. 4: "J. J. Bryan and Mrs. L. A. Gooch were married by Elder E. D. Brown Sunday morning at the home of the bride, three and one-half miles east of Maxey. The groom had been employed by the bride the past three years to work on her farm."

Information from Barbara Andrews, 4 Apr 1999, 2727 Fisk Lane, Redondo Beach, CA 90278-5411: Joseph Johnston Bryan was born 6 Sep 1889 in Tippah Co., MS and died 24 Jul 1929 in Lamar county. He married Lauricia Angeline Harvey Gooch on 21 May 1916 in Lamar County Marriage Book 28, page 516.

Tombstone is inscribed, "Joe Bryan." Buried next to Maude May Finley. There are two unknown stones between Robert Lee Moore & Joe Bryan.
