THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, Sep. 21, 1970, p. 2: "Mrs. Bedford Isom, 77, formerly of 503-13th NE, who had been at Pleasant Grove Nursing Home, died after a year's ill health, Sunday at 10:45 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital. She was formerly matron of the county farm, where her husband was superintendent between 1932 and 1945. She was a member of the College Church of Christ. Friends will be received between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Monday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home, where service is arranged for 3 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The former Hester Merle Crenshaw, born at Roxton, Dec. 1, 1892, Mrs. Isom was a daughter of W. A. and Ida (Billingsley) Crenshaw, and married Mr. Isom in 1908 at Moores Springs, northeast of Paris. They moved to Paris in 1945, her husband's death occurring in 1964. Surviving are a son, John Isom, Dallas; a granddaughter, Mrs. John Hal Gabbert and two grandchildren, San Antonio; a niece, Mrs. S. P. Gibbens, Paris, and a nephew, Dr. Charles Crenshaw, Fort Worth."
