LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Thu., Dec. 6, 1984. 'Robert (Bob) Irion, 69, 2126 Cleveland, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 29, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Irion was born July 16, 1915, in Paris, a son of Bill and Ruth Ragsdale Irion. He and his wife, Lela, were owners of Irion Real Estate. He had been in the real estate business here since 1946. Mr. Irion was a veteran of WW II and served in the National Guard with the 49th Armored Division and was serving when it was mobilized in 1962. He retired from the National Guard in 1962 as major. He first married Katherine Elizabeth Folsom on Feb. 10, 1945. She died Nov. 22, 1976. He later married Lela King on Dec. 27, 1977. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; one son, Bill Irion of Irving; one daughter, Karen Callis of Irving; a stepson, Bill King of Paris; two stepdaughters, Sydney Beth Kingof Irving and Sherry King of Tyler; three grandchildren'.
