LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, Thu., Sept. 18, 1980, p. 6. 'Tom M. Isbell, 81, of Cooper died Sept. 11 in a Paris hospital. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Elton Haley of Cooper officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mr. Isbell was born in Jackson County, Ala. on April 20, 18919, son of James L. Isbell and Josie McFarlen Isbell. He was a retired farmer. On Jan. 14, 1932, he married Flora Wheeler. Survivors include his wife of Cooper; one son, Thomas A. Isbell of Fort Worth; six daughters, Virginia Stone of El Monte, Calif., Ruth Carlson of Vista, Calif., Barbara Kialed of Fort Worth, Sona Plyler of Little Rock, Ark., Shirley Lightfoot of Garland and Winona Blackwell of Garland; three brothers, Paul Isbell of Monroe, Ind., David Isbell of Arlington and Bill Isbell of Oklahoma; two sisters, Martha Humphries of Paris and Jessie King of Pine Bluff, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.'
