THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 13 Jun 1985. 'Wallace C. (Buck) Buchanan, 693-25th SE, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, 6 Jun 1985. Funeral mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Monday, 10 Jun, with the Rev. Michael Barone as celebrant. Graveside services were held Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sherman. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Buchanan was born 4 Feb 1924, in Denison, a son of W.A. and Mary Buchanan. He attended Denison and Sherman schools and was a veteran of World War II. He married Margaret Adlof on 29 Apr 1948. They moved to Paris in 1956 where he was associated with the Paris Concrete Co. for 20 years. He later operated Choctaw Materials for 13 years. For the past six years, he had been associated with Boorhem and Fields. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and the Knights of Columbus and the Paris Elks Lodge No. 2433. He was also a member of Paris Golf and Country Club. He was a past Jaycee president and former member of the Lions Club. Surviving are his wife; one son, David Buchanan of Temple; three grandchildren, Thomas Wayne, Rebecca Christine and Matthew Douglas Buchanan, all of Temple; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin Chesshir of Denison and Mrs. Charles Castleberry of Texas City; one brother, W.G. Buchanan of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.'
