THE PARIS NEWS September, 1988. 'Roy L. Bryan, 85, formerly of 2301 W. Austin, of Cherry Street Manor, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 1988. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Haskell England and Rick Henslee officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Bryan was born October 11, 1902, in Lamar County, a son of Thomas T. and Annie V. (Taylor) Bryan. He attended Lamar County schools. He lived in Chicota until 1934 when he moved to Paris. He was a member of the Bonham Street Church of Christ and of its adult Sunday School class. He married Lydia I. Ballard on November 15, 1923. She died March 5, 1984. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Usry of Paris; two sons, J. T. Bryan of Paris and Sebourn Bryan of Paris; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chester G. Bryan of Yucca Valley, CA; and three sisters, Grace Picard of Oklahoma City, OK, Lottie Smith of Paris and Leila Whitehead of Paris. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Otha Bryan in 1983 and Otto Bryan in 1977.'
