LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, February 24, 1983, p. 4: "Deport- Harvey D. Brown of Paris died Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Private graveside services were held Friday, Feb. 18, at Highland Cemetery in Deport with the Rev. Thomas Ridge officiating. Grant Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mr. Brown was born April 21, 1919, in Bogata, a son of Harvey D. and Medie Ann Ward Brown. On June 7, 1942, he married Robbie Kelley. Surviving are his wife; these children and grandchildren, Larry and DeeAnne Cummings, Patrick and Timothy of Dallas; Deryl and Kelley Brown of Dallas; Rodney Brown, Robert and Cinda Brown of Austin; Tom and Jane Montgomery, Shannon and Melissa of Houston; two brothers, Louis Brown of Dallas and Eunice Brown of Lubbock; two sisters, Lorene Leftwich of Odessa and Elsie Ray of Little Rock, Ark."
