THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Jan. 5, 1995, p.2A: 'Dovie Brittain, 65, 670-9th SE and Virginia B. (Dimp) Bratcher, 61, 343-17th NE, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. George Flowers and the Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The families will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brittain was born July 7, 1929, in Lamar County, a daughter of Tone and Altona Terry Williams. She worked for many years at the 82 Truck Stop and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Herron Wynn of Paris; one grandchild, Chris Wynn of Paris; one sister, Dorothy McFatridge of Paris and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Williams of Paris; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bratcher was born Sep. 17, 1933[sic], in Lamar County, a daughter of Tone and Altona Terry Williams. She married William P. Bratcher. She had worked for Westinghouse and as a waitress. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Surviving are her husband; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Gary and Brenda Owings of Paris, David and Vonna Bratcher of Corsicana, Greg and Lauren Bratcher of Paris, Tracy Bratcher of Paris and Ronnie and Robin Bratcher of Paris; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steven Garrison of Powderly; one sister, Dorothy McFatridge of Paris; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Williams of Paris; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.'
