THE PARIS NEWS, 26 Dec 1957: "Funeral service for Mrs. Roy C. Bridges, 1360 Clarksville St., who died Saturday night, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Fry and Gibbs chapel, burial being arranged in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Prince and the Rev. James S. Riley of Houston, Baptist pastors, will officiate, pallbearers being Andrew Bowers, Frank Condray, Blake Dunagan, Edwin Davis, O.U. Slaton, William Fry, Elmer Dickey and Fred Clemons. The former Miss Ida Crowley, daughter of the late E. S. and Emma Josephine (Bivins) Crowley, Mrs. Bridges was born at Atlas, 3 Sep 1891, and had lived all her life in Lamar County. After attending schools here, she was a student at old Kidd-Key College at Sherman. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She died in a Dallas hospital after suffering a stroke while there for a medical checkup last week. A widow, she leaves these children: the Rev. Crowley Bridges, Mrs. J. W. Abels, Jr., and Mrs. Lydia Martha Griffin; three grandchildren and a brother, J. E. (Eddie) Crowley, Paris."
