LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, April 14, 1983, p. 4: 'Mrs. Marie Bridgers, Rt. 2, Sumner, died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at McCuistion Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Georgia Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Joe Blackshear officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Cemetery by Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. Mrs. Bridgers was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Arkansas, a daughter of J. M. Dobbs and Alice Biard Dobbs. She married George Bridgers on July 3, 1933. He died Dec. 13, 1974. They moved to Texas from Arkansas in 1942. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Georgia. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lula Mae Hignight of Sumner; three sons, Charley Bridgers of Paris, Rex Bridgers of Paris and Odis Bridgers of Paris; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mae Bynum of Summers, Ark. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Marie Bridgers in Jan. 1943.' There is an unknown wood stake between Jeffrey Paul Bridgers and Marie Bridgers.
