From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; daughter of J.W. & Lillie Mae Bentley. Married B.A. Black. Born in Emberson community of Lamar County, died in Paris, TX.

LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, July 14, 1983, p. 3. 'Mrs. Martha M. Black of Medical Plaza Center died there Thursday, June 30, at 10:50 p.m. She formerly lived at 1730 Cleveland. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Barnes, pastor of the Seventh Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. Mutt Wallace of Hugo officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Black was born May 1, 1905, in Emberson, a daughter of J. W. Bryan and Lillie Mae Bently Bryan. She attended Boswell, Okla. schools and the Sanitarium of Paris nursing school. She married B. A. Black in 1937. He died in Oct. 1971. She was a licensed vocational nurse in Paris hospitals for 34 years before retiring about two years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dillard (Lillian) Dancer of Boswell, Okla. and Mrs. B. L. (Vivian) Wilhite of Paris; five grandchildren, Brenda Conly of Boswell, Cheryl Duncan of Boswell, Clint and Lisa and Laurie Campbell of Paris; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell Bryan of Roseburg, Ore. and one sister, Mrs. Grace Curtis of Pampa. Pallbearers were John Campbell, Blake Campbell, Jack Campbell, James H. Dorris, Wiley Lamberson, and Tommy Malone.'
