From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; daughter of William Thomas Pruett & Louella Samantha Harry Pruett. Married Roy Black. Born in Hunt County, TX., died in Hugo, OK. LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, February 24, 1983, p. 4. 'Hugo, Okla-- Clara M. Black, 78, of the Golden age Nursing Home in Hugo, Okla., died Friday, Feb. 18, at Choctaw Memorial Hospital. funeral services were set for Monday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Lampton-Mills Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bill Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery. She was born on April 28, 1904 in Hunt County, Texas, a daughter of William Thomas Pruett and Louella Samantha Harry Pruett. She married Roy W. Black on Jan. 10, 1924 in Boswell, Okla. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1968. She retired in 1975 after working 30 years as a nurse at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. She lived in Paris from 1924 to 1974, before moving to Hugo. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include one son, Donald R. Black of Irving; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Baer of Hugo, Okla. and Mrs. Dorothy Vaughan of Paris; one brother, Thomas Pruett of Garland; one sister, Derotha Bush of Hugo; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.'
