THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Feb. 4, 1996, p.8B. 'Woodrow Wilson Bennett, 77, of Powderly died Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, at his home. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Holley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:3o-7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Bennett was born May 28, 1918, in Pattonville, a son of John Thomas and Carrie Mae Slough Bennett. He married Myrtle Stone who preceded him in death Aug. 19, 1983. He then married Kathleen Woodall Jeter on March 24, 1984. She died Sep. 12, 1995. He served in the Army during World War II and was retired from Campbell Soup. He was a member of the Powderly Baptist Church. Survivors include two step-sons, John Jeter of Dallas and David Jeter of Memphis, TN; a brother, Vernon Bennett of Corpus Christi; a niece, Thelma Meuir of Paris; and a step-grandson, Andrew Jeter. Pallbearers will be Clayton Wallen, Laning Ishmael, Jim Green, S.A. Fry, James Hall and Bill Hodge. Honorary bearers will be Ben Henson, Harold Prowse, Joe Green and John Stroder.' On the same stone with Myrtle Bennett. Next to Ophelia Anderson.
