From materials donated to the genealogical library in 1995 by Thelma Jean Day: "The funeral for Mrs Pinkie Bennett will be Friday, Sep. 12, 1975, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. W. E. Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Littlejohn Cemetery with Maxey Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Pinkie Barnes Bennett was born in Paris, Lamar County, TX, Aug. 2, 1902. She was the daughter of Willie Barnes and Ethel Rayford Barnes. She attended Paris public schools. She was married to Mike Bennett. To this union two children were born. Mrs. Bennett united with St. Paul Baptist Church in early life, where she served until her health failed. She was a devoted, loyal member through the years. The church has been richly blessed to know Sister Bennett's fellowship. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, James Mike Bennett, Chicago, IL; one brother, Allen Barnes, Borger, TX; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one first cousin, John L. Powell, Paris, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Claborn Stewart, John R. Holt, Elbert L. Desmond, Lee Cooper Pruitt, Robert Holt and Robert Stewart."
In 1994 this was an unmarked grave. Death date is date of interment.
