LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, September 13, 1983, p. 4: 'Marston R. Bennett, 2017 Jefferson Ave., Texarkana, Ark., died there at St. Michael's Hospital at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12? Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the East Funeral Home. Graveside service and burial will be held at Antioch Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Amos Floyd will officiate at Texarkana and the Rev. Kirk Ballard will officiate at the graveside services. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr. Bennett was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Pattonville, a son of May L. Bennett and Dollie Williams Bennett. On Jan, 26, 1948, he married Bettie Baze of Paris. They lived in Paris until 1951 when they moved to Texarkana where he worked for the Red River Ordnance Depot. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Marshall Bennett of Texarkana; John Bennett of Wake Village, Ricky Bennett of Texarkana and Terry Bennett of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ettie Graham of Fort Worth, Mrs. Virgie Ballard of Pattonville and Mrs. Lillie Emanuel of Morrow Bay, Calif.'
Tombstone is inscribed, 'US Navy WW II.' Buried next to Loyd L. Bennett.
