Notes
From an unnamed newspaper obituary clipping from ‘The Paris Scrapbook’ donated by Skipper Steely, February 6, 1920: “Mrs. Sallie Beck, an aged resident of Paris died Wednesday night at the Aikin hospital, where she had been staying the past two or three months. She was eighty-two years old and was the widow of a well known Baptist minister, who died in Paris several years ago. she was a native of Tennessee, and came to Paris in 1858 with her mother and brothers. She did not leave any children of her own, but is survived by two step-children, Judge Charles Beck of Hansford county, who came here a few weeks ago to pay her a visit, and Mrs. W. H. Rush, who lives on Pine Bluff street. She is also survived by three brothers who came here with her and their mother when they moved from Tennessee. Two of them, T. M. and J. G. Sansberry live at Faught and I. G. Sansberry makes his home in Paris with his daughter, Mrs. F. A. Hooker. The funeral service was held at 2:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Rodgers-Wade chapel, and the burial was at Evergreen.”
