THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, 29 June 1916: 'W. P. Beasley, aged fifty-nine years, died at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at the family residence on Waverly street. he had been in gradually failing health for a long time, but was able to be out on the streets a considerable part of the time. The deceased came to Lamar county from Arkansas in 1902 and located near Brookston, where he continued to reside and engaged in farming until three years ago, when he moved to the city. His wife died before he left Arkansas and he never married again. He is survived by two sons and five daughters, all of whom reside in Paris except one of the daughters, Mrs. Ella Hart of Little Rock, and she and Mrs. Lawrence Burney are the only children who are married. The other children are Misses Lillian, Anna and Ora and Brooks and Walter Beasley. The deceased was a devoted member of Centenary Methodist Church, and also belonged to the Woodmen. The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock this afternoon at his late residence. Rev. M. L. Hamilton officiating and the burial will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery north of Brookston at 3:30 o'clock.'
