THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Mar. 9, 1997, p.6A: 'Hugo, OK - Juanita Barker, 69, of Rufe, OK, died Friday, March 7, 1997, in St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Paris. She was a homemaker and member of Faithway Baptist Church. She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Sobol, OK, a daughter of Frank Allensworth and Nellie (Holdley) Allensworth and had lived all her life in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband James Barker, an infant son, and a granddaughter, Tonya Renee Cantrell. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Kendrick and her husband Ted of Fort Towson, Shirley Cantrell and husband Dale of Valliant and Linda Ruffin and husband Gordon of Rufe; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Allensworth of Fort Towson; two sisters, Bessie Martin of New Castle, OK and Mary Carper of Salida, CA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in Faithway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hershel Reed officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Cockerham. Burial will be in Sobol Cemetery in Sobol, OK under direction of Miller and Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.'
