Buried next to Mary E. Bowden. Also in the burial records of J.W. Milligan, Pastor of Chicota Baptist Church, as Granpa Bowden. William Acey Bowden received a pension from the State of Texas for service in the Confederate Army #40927. THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Tuesday, August 9, 1932, p. 5: 'W. A. Bowden, 86, died Monday afternoon, 3:15 o'clock at the residence of his daughter Mrs. M. G. Feagan, 29 North Thirtieth street. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Pyles church, the Rev. J. W. Milligan conducting the services. Burial will be at Pyles cemetery. Grandsons will act as pallbearers. Mr. Bowden is survived by three sons, B. C. Bowden of Gainesville; A. W. Bowden, of Paris; and C. O. Bowden of Lubbock; two daughters, Mrs. A. B. Ewell, Tigertown; and Mrs. M. G. Feagan, Paris. Until four years ago, Mr. Bowden lived at Direct.'
