THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Dec. 24, 1996, p.14A. 'Lillian Gooch Ball, 88, of Paris died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. No formal visitation hour will be observed. She was born Nov. 19, 1908, in Deport to Robert Lee and Ruth Ellen Riggle Gooch. She married William Jennings Bryan Ball Jan. 26, 1924, in Minter. She was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Talma Dean and Connie Ball of Paris and Billy Mack and Patsy Ball of Garland; a daughter-in-law, Melba Ball of Paris; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Odine and Rose Marie Stahmann of San Antonio, Genevieve Solomon of Paris and George and Sue Stallings of Paris; a sister, Theresa Carriker of Tulsa, OK; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grand-children; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1966; a son, W.M. Ball in 1991; a son-in-law, Douglas Solomon in 1993; a brother Sam Gooch; two sisters, Mrs. Wallace (Effie) Shannon and Mrs. Robert L. (Beulah) Edwards in Nov. 1996. Pallbearers will be Gerald Byas, Dennis Ward, Steve Thoms and grandsons Jay, Reece and Tracy Stallings and Danny Ball and Matthew Coyle.'
