THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Dec. 22, 1996, p.6A. 'Charles L. 'Bud' Ball, 83, of Parkview Convalescent Center, formerly of Dallas and Direct, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, in McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Ball was born July 19, 1913, in Telephone, a son of Charles L. and Bessie Jane Holcomb Ball. He attended school in Direct. He married Willie Ree Crutchfield on June 15, 1938, in Direct. He was a member of Direct Baptist Church. He retired in 1968 from LTV in Greenville. Surviving are his wife, Willie, of Paris; a nephew, Billy Don Daniels of Bonham; and these brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vester and Christine Crutchfield of the Maxey Community, Lester and Irlene Crutchfield of Tigertown, R. V. Crutchfield of Sumner, Ray and Oleta Decker of Paris, Ruth Crutchfield of Paris, Clara Jones of Sumner, Lee Roy Crutchfield of Lubbock, and Lloyd Wayne and Kriss Crutchfield of San Clemente, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roy, and a sister, Gladys Daniels. Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Gerald Harris, Joe Goforth, Jamie Collard, Billy Don Daniels and Johnny Ray Decker.'
