THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Oct. 9, 1983, p. 4A: “Cora Martha Jones Beamer of 15-13th SE died Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in the Gene Roden’s Sons, Directors of Funerals Chapel with Mr. John Cannon officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. Mrs. Beamer was born April 28, 1901, in Celeste, the daughter of George and Jennie Bolton Jones. She married Ernest C. Beamer on Oct. 18, 1930, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1967. She was a member of the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ of Paris. She was a retired nurses aide and had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the American Association of Retired Persons, a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Union-Pacific Old Timers Club in Kansas City, Kan., a member of Hyacinth Chapter of the Eastern Star in Kansas City and a member and past president of the League of Scottish Rite Women in Kansas City. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Retta Allen and Mrs. Lillian Gage, both of Paris; one step-son, Harold Beamer of Livonia, Mich.; and two granddaughters."
