THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 14 Jan 1988. 'A. Richard Bailey, formerly of Rugby and Bogata, died Tuesday, 5 Jan 1988, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Dallas. Services were held Friday, 8 Jan, at Grant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born 18 Aug 1892, in Mississippi, a son of William Milton and Lula Thompson Bailey. His first wife, Donna Oleta, died in 1940. He married Mae King who died in Oct. 1965. He was a member of the Baptist church, a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion. Surviving are two sons, Hoyle Bailey of Frisco and Eulis Bailey of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Owens of Ardmore, Okla.; a brother, W.M. Bailey of Elkhart; two sisters, Rozelle Morgan of Paris and Mrs. J.E. McLemore of Deport; and six grandchildren.' Double marker with May B. Bailey. Tombstone reads: 'Cook US Army WW I.' Near Lee Francis.
