THE PARIS NEWS, 31 Jan 1950: 'Eugene H. Bailey, 60, vice-president and general manager of Paris Grocer Company, died Tuesday at 11:22 a.m. at the Sanitarium of Paris. Mr. Bailey, who lived at 2152 Cleveland St., has been ill some time. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for services, which will be held probably Thursday afternoon, at the funeral home here, with interment in Hugo, Okla. Survivors include Mrs. Bailey, the former Miss Sula Willis, and a daughter Mrs. Kenneth Moore, LaGrange, Ill.; three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Adam Bailey, Dodd City, and Mrs. George McLear, San Francisco, Calif. He was born 27 Feb 1889 at Lannius, Fannin County, son of the late Monroe and Nannie Burnett Bailey. He attended Lannius public schools and Paris Commercial College. Former business connections were with the Kimbell Milling Company at Whitewright and J.M. Crook Hardware Company of Paris. He was manager of the Paris Grocer Company office in Hugo, Okla., before coming to Paris. He succeeded the late R.C. Lane, as active director of the grocer company. He was a steward of First Methodist Church, and belonged to the Rotary Club. He was a past director of the Chamber of Commerce.'
