LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, April 14, 1983, p. 4: 'Memorial services for Mrs. W. L. (Katherine) McMurry Barber of Long Beach, Calif. will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Felix Keys will officiate. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Barber, a former Paris resident, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paris for many years before moving to California. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. B. Smith of Long Beach, two grandchildren, Sandra Mills of Long Beach and Dr. Steven Smith of Houston; two cousins, Mrs. Jack Mann of Paris and Allen Hickman of Dallas. She was a cousin of the late J. F. Hickman of Paris.' On the same stone with Mary Rose McMurry and W. E. McMurry. From FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, PARIS, TEXAS, 1871-1985, p. 25: 'Miss Katherine McMurry and E. C. Gantt, Terrell, Texas, were married in Church April 6, 1916. Katherine died in Long Beach, Calif., 2-21-83. Ashes were brought back to Evergreen Cemetery--buried by side of parents, W. E. McMurry's.'
