THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., May 8, 1998, p. 4B: 'Juanita Hope Burns, 80, of Amarillo, formerly of Paris, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Spencer and Bob Crockett officiating. Burial will be in Sylvan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Burns was born in the Sylvan community. She married Fred Alvie Burns in 1952. He died in 1986. She had been employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 25 years and was a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers Club and a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program in Paris. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Amarillo and a former member of Bonham Street Church of Christ in Paris before moving to Amarillo 11 months ago. Surviving are a son, Dr. Russell Burns and wife Cathy of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Allison, Clint and Lauren, all of Amarillo; and one sister, Doris V. Scales of Dallas. Pallbearers will be Joel Casey, Charles Casey, Larry Long, Wayne Kerby, Haskell England and Charles Arnold. The family requests memorial contributions be made to A. D. Panhandle Chapter Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 2200 West 7th St., Amarillo, TX 79106. A memorial service will be conducted in Amarillo at 4 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Central Church of Christ.'
