THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, April 18, 2000, page 8A: 'Jerry Dean Baker, 68, passed from this earth Monday, April 17, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, in Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Baker was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Lamar County to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Baker. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was held a prisoner of war for 11 months. He was a retired truck driver and lifetime member of VFW Post 3990, American Legion, and MOC 39. He was an ardent hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Edna Townsend and his mother, Eva Baker of Cunningham; sons, Quinton Baker and Jason Baker of Cunningham; and Curtis Baker of Lubbock; two stepdaughters, Linda and Rhonda; one sister, Debbie Mills of Oklahoma; and one granddaughter, Anna. He was preceded in death by his father.'
