THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Jul. 7, 1992, p. 2A: "James Randolph 'Jimmy' Burch, Jr., 70, 2240 Briarwood, died Mon., Jul. 6, in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Services at 10:30 a.m. Wed., Jul. 8, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Brown and Dr. Raymond Armstrong. Born in Paris, a son of James Randolph Burch Sr. and Mae Pritchard Burch, he was a graduate of Paris High School and Paris Junior College. He served 5 years in the Army Air Corps during World War II and married Kathryn Humphreys in Paris Mar. 15, 1947. He was a former employee of The Paris News and was an agent for Southland Life Insurance Co. for 40 years. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the Paris Rotary Club, Paris Golf and Country Club, the Elks Lodge and a former member of Paris Jaycees and the Noon Optimist Club. Surviving are his wife; a son, Brad Burch of Paris; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Chip Exum of Paris; grandchildren, Jason Burch Exum, Joshua Bradley Exum and Katie Jane Exum, all of Paris."
