THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Jan. 27, 1998, p. 4B: 'Myrtle Dell Burge, 96, of Paris died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with Paul Jackson and John and Peggy Jackson Sutherland officiating. Services are direction [sic] of Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. She was born May 9, 1901, in Cuero to Robert Lee and Emma Jane Dement Pullen. She married Staff Sgt. W. A. Burge Aug. 4, 1921, in San Antonio where he was stationed at Kelly Field. He died Aug. 17, 1981. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are a son, Carl Burge of Lindale; two daughters, Mrs. O. B. (Cathy) Carpenter of Dallas and Mrs. James (Betty) Jackson of Paris; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur (Mary Ruth) Fuqua of Roxton; and a brother, Leroy Pullen of California.'
