THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Aug. 28, 1995, p. 12A: 'Barbara Ruth Benoit, 52, of Reno died Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, in the Novice Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Long Cemetery by Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Barbara was born Oct. 25, 1942. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dean Wallace of Paris. She married Paul Benoit. He is an employee of the City of Paris. Mrs. Benoit was a drug and alcohol counselor and was a member of MADD. Surviving are her husband; her parents; one son, Reynolds Joseph Picou III of West Virginia; three sisters, Holly Johnson and Merry Post, both of Paris, and Jody Ashby of Lafayette, IN; one brother, Leonard Jared of Riverside, CA; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Jasmine and Jessica. There are numerous nephews, nieces and many friends and family members in Paris, Tx, CA, AR, and IN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Duncan, in 1982 and one daughter, Rita Janice Carr who was born July 24, 1966 and died April 27, 1991. Mr. and Mrs. Benoit are rearing Rita Carr's two children, Joshua Carr Benoit, age 12, and Jasmine Carr Benoit, age 6. Named to serve as pallbearers are Berl Roberts, Leslie Thomas, Brad Thomas, Johnnie Marion Thomas, Jimmy Don Thomas and Jimmy Johnson. The family and friends will be received at the home of Bob and Ora Wallace after the funeral services.'
