THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Apr. 21, 1998, p. 4B: 'Charles Franklin Thacker, 54, of Paris died at 3 a.m. Monday, April 20, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carey Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Jamison Chapel Cemetery in Red River County. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Thacker was born Dec. 30, 1943, in Clarksville to Hubert Franklin and Mary Dorothy Weaver Thacker. He attended schools in New Boston and Dallas and was a self-employed auto mechanic for over 25 years. He was a Baptist. He married Kay Sisson Oct. 16, 1978, in Paris. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Don Franklin Thacker and Charles Chase Thacker, both of Paris; five daughters, Scarlett Denise Thacker, Tammy Pauline Thacker, Dorothy Darlene Thacker, Rhonda Nadine Thacker, all of Paris, and Angela Diane Sisson of Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo; 17 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Carey of Paris; two sisters, Margaret Juanita Holt of Hooks and Jacqueleene Broyles of Amarillo; a stepbrother, Gary Don Thacker of Hooks; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Jerry Sparks, Kenneth Tucker, Jerald Hood, Ron Galanos, Bill Harris, and LeRoy Clarkson.'
