Notes

John Ingram married Amanda Crain on 22 Dec 1864, Lamar County Marriage Book 3, page 243. John Ingram later married Mary Jane Duff Burris in Oct 1877. Lamar County Texas Marriage Record Book 7, page 194 shows on 20 Oct 1877 Ingram, John applied for license to marry Burris, Mary Jane.

John Ingram, Pvt., Co. H, 9th Texas Cavalry, is listed in TEXAS CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS 1861 - 1865 UNIT ROSTER, Vol. II, edited by Janet B. Hewett, (Wilmington, NC: Broadfoot Publishing, 1997), p. 80. John Jay Ingram received a pension #12010 from the State of Texas for his service in the Confederate Army. He was in Co. H, 9th Texas Cavalry and later in Good’s Battalion.

Tombstone is inscribed, "J. J. Ingram." Buried near the road.
