THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Aug. 28, 1997, p. 4B: 'Deport - Carol J. Trussell, 53, of Bogata, formerly of Halesboro, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at East Texas Medical Center, Clarksville. Wood Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Friday. Aug. 29, at Woodard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Ms. Trussell was born Feb. 14, 1944, in Red River County to Marshall and Alice Slaton and the granddaughter of Mary and Frank Slaton and W. W. and Della Trussell. She had been a resident of Red River Healthcare Center since 1983. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Trussell of Deport; three sisters, Eula Fae Walker of Paris, Marcilla Wright and husband Sam of Deport, Brenda Berry and husband Doug of Powderly; two aunts, Robbie Slaton of Halesboro and Vergie Trussell of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.' Buried next to Marshell Trussell.
