From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box T: 'Deport - Clara B. Taylor, 84, of Cunningham died Thursday, April 6, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Life Tabernacle Church in Cunningham with the Rev. Don Whitt and the Rev. Chief Warden officiating. Grant Funeral Home will make burial in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born Feb. 19, 1905, in the Shadowland Community of Lamar County, a daughter of William Golden and Dora Threadgill Hamby. She married George West Taylor on Aug. 7, 1921. He died May 10, 1982. She was a member of the Cunningham Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Billy Joe and Georgia Oats of Cunningham; three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Willie) Wilson and Mrs. Lessie Stuart, both of Reno, and Mrs. Garland (Beulah) Ursuery of Yuma, AZ; one grandson, Billy Ray Oats of Cunningham; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Grant Funeral Home. Named as pallbearers are James Norwood, William Cooper, Leslie Taylor, Pete McKnight, Larry Ball and Frankie Norwood.'
