THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, March 26, 1946: 'Mrs. R. M. Taylor of Circle Back, the former Miss Emma Z. Hicks, daughter of W. H. Hicks of Chicota, died Saturday in South Plains Hospital at Amherst. Her father, her husband and seven children survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church at Forest Chapel, the Rev. J. H. Johnson officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Kirby, and Brown-Roden funeral Home will make burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery. Named as pallbearers were Joe Reid, Chester Campbell, Bernie Campbell, Loy Campbell, Dewey Vanderburg and Clyde Lyles. Mrs. Taylor was born in Lamar County, May 8, 1908, daughter of W. H. Hicks of Chicota, and his wife, who was Miss Fronie Smith. She leaves her father; her husband and these children; Robert Taylor, Larry Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Ethel Taylor, Joy Taylor and Gail Taylor, all of Circle Back, and a brother and two sisters, Preston Hicks, Mrs. Lucie Townsend and Mrs. Rosa Lee Cooper, all of Los Angeles.' In 1993 this was an unmarked grave.
