THE PARIS NEWS, Jun. 30, 1997, p. 5a: 'Lillian Basham, 75, of Pacio died Saturday, June 28, 1997, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn Vickers and the Rev. Eugene Adams officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Liberty, MO., to Charles and Cuma Wilson Skeen. She married C. [Cecil] T. Basham July 27, 1941, in Hugo. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and a member of Charleston United Methodist Church where she served as secretary for 33 years. Surviving are her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Avon and Doug Lane of Corsicana, Christy and Garry Gentry of Paris; a son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Judy Basham; nine grandchildren, Amy Venable, Philip Lane, Natasha Freeman, Brandon Freeman, Lawanda Broiles, Linda Lassiter, Brandy Weaver, Tommy Basham and J.R. Basham; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Skeen of Westminster, CA and Calvin Skeen of Beaumont. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Johnny Skeen and her parents. Pallbearers will be Don Smith, Tommy Basham, Darel Herin, Gene Patterson, Manuel Gentry Sr. and Bloyce Crumley.'
