THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, November 13, 1970, p.11: 'Last rites for Charles E. Bowden, 57, of 648-12th NE, were held Thursday at Leverett and Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. James Semple and the Rev. J. L. Wideman, Baptist pastors, officiated, and bearers were Marcus Biggers, Walter Gaches, Ray Butler, James Benningfield, J. H. Thomas, Seburn Burleson, Sam Smith and Frank Horne, Masonic committal service being held in Meadowbrook cemetery. Mr. Bowden, a paint contractor, died Tuesday of injuries suffered in a traffic accident Sept. 2. He was a 32nd degree Mason, active in all the order's bodies here.' From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; son of Andrew and Myrtle Burks Bowden. Born in Direct, TX., died in Paris, TX. Married Thelma Teel.
