He married first on 9 Aug 1894 in Lamar County to Martha Ann Thorpe. He married second on 9 Jun 1901 to Donie Norther in Lamar County. Information from Nedelene Pitcock Speegle, Cisco, TX, nedsp@dishmail.net, 08/22/2014: John and Calidonia Barber were my grandparents. John Ephran Barber was born 20 August 1871 in Clinton County, Kentucky, per birth records I found online, but the tombstone shows the birth year was 1873. His parents were John Briggle Barber and Nancy Jane Dickens Barber. Both were from Kentucky. He married Calidonia (Donie) Northam on 8 June 1901 in Lamar County Texas. Calidonia Northam Barber died 9 January 1916 in Fargo (near Vernon), Texas and is buried there. My records show John Barber was also married to a Sullivan prior to marrying Northam, and to Ida McLeya (sp?). John Ephran Barber died on 25 May 1949 in Rockwell, Lamar County, Texas. Tombstone is inscribed with years of birth and death only and year of birth is listed as 1873. Buried next to Martha Ann Thorpe Barber. |
