LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Thu. Nov. 15, 1984. 'Louis Franklin Utz, 830-17th SE, died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Citizens General Hospital in Greenville. Fry and Gibbs conducted graveside services Saturday, Nov. 10, at Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Utz was born aug. 8, 1917 in Shady Grove community in Lamar County, a son of William Utz and Rosie Lee Stone Utz. He attended schools at Chapel Hill and Brookston and Paris Commercial College and Lamar Radio School. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Army during the war and served in the military police. He was a disabled veteran. He was a retired roofer. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Fleming of Quinlan, Mrs. Carolyn Williamson of Paris and Mrs. Shirley Scott of Paris; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Thomas Utz of Paris'.
