THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 04, 2007: "ABILENE, Mary Alice Steelman Tuttle, 77, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at her residence. Her funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at University Church of Christ Chapel, 733 EN 16th Street, with Jack Hardcastle officiating. A graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris. Visitation for family and friends was from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy. 277 South. She was born April 13, 1930, in Doddridge, Ark. She married Cecil Tuttle on Jan. 5, 1957, and together they raised three children and a granddaughter. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene and a former member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Latch Key worker. She was preceded in death by her parents, R. L. 'Cotton' and Mable Steelman; her brother, Frankie Steelman; and a son Bobby Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Cecil D. Tuttle of Abilene; sister, Opal Steelman Patterson of Dallas; three children, son, William Anderson and wife, Barbara, of League City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Dan Jacobs of Frankford, Ky., and Barbara and Tony Jones of Shepherd; three grandchildren, Sonia Suarez and husband, Orlando, of New Jersey, Rena Seay of Abilene, and Cecil Anderson and wife, Lupéé of League City; two great-grandsons, Austin and Zachary Suarez of New Jersey; and two great-grand dogs, Nacey and Ronnie of Abilene. Pallbearers serving at the graveside service are Paul Garrett, David Chapman, Robert Steelman, James Paul Miears, Mark Welch, Randy Tuttle, Larry Hughes and John Gentry. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Newman, Archie Sparks, Larry Patterson and Wayne Caviness. Online condolences may be left for the family through the obituary link at www.elmwoodfuneral.com."
