THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, June 29, 1958, p. 2: “Claude M. Turner. Funeral of Claude Milton Turner, 68, of Sumner, who died Friday, was held Saturday afternoon at Mount Tabor Methodist Church at Caviness, burial there being made by Gene Roden & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. G. L. Vaughn, Emberson Baptist pastor officiated. Mr. Turner, who died in a Paris after three months illness, was born in Lamar County, March 3, 1890. He leaves his wife and these children: Dallas M. Turner, Sumner; Ballard Turner, Lamesa; Mrs. Ardell Thompson, Eloy, Ariz.; Mrs. Ellen Loving and Mrs. Mabel Mamiter, Tyler; seven grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Fred Turner, Phoenix, Ariz.; Alvis Turner, in California; Lewis Turner, Owen Turner and Mrs. Murray Diseker, Lufkin; Mrs. S. L. Upchurch, Amarillo; Mrs. Estelle Kilgore, Dallas, and Mrs. Evie Golihar, Texarkana."
