Tombstone is inscribed, 'Sgt. US Army Korea.' THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, November 6, 1980. 'Billy F. Turner, 50, of Blossom died Oct. 31 in Dallas. Funeral services were held Monday morning in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Earls of Blossom officiating. Burial was in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom. Mr. Turner was born in Kiamichi on Oct. 7, 1930, son of C. H. (Jack) Turner and Edith Smith Turner. He attended public schools in Red River and Lamar counties. He married the former Neva Hart in Blossom on Feb. 2, 1952. Mr. Turner was a Korean War veteran and served in Germany. He is a retired machinist from Babcock and Wilcox and resided for the past 14 years in Blossom. He was a member of the Blossom Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Kay) Wells of Burleson; one son, Robert F. Turner of Killeen; his mother, Mrs. Edith Smith Turner; two sisters, Mrs. Dale Cleveland of Lancaster and Mrs. Alice Stewart of Dallas; one brother, Tommy Turner of Yukon, Okla.; and one grandson, Corey Wells of Burleson. Pallbearers were George Thurman, George Pullins, Randall Bangs, Jerry Allen, David Lindsay and W. B. Smith.'
